5/21 Game 15, Cubs Team: Another well
played game both teams when out and just had fun. Great close to a great season
hope to see all of you back next year even if you move up a league I will be
watching.
|
|
5/19 Game 14, Benbrook Team:
Canceled.
|
|
5/17 Game 13, Ranger Team: Well the
Rangers seem to always step up a play our level of baseball, great game Rangers.
With 4 homeruns hit during this game it was a surprise we didn't pull this game
off. The game difference came from to many strikeouts, the Rangers gave up only
7 where we gave up 10 which is higher than normal. Officially this is a
suspended game with a possible 3 more innings to be played from the point it was
suspended, or until someone breaks the tie at the concussion of an inning.
|
|
5/12 Game 12, Cubs Team: The Cubs
played great today almost put one on us. The Scrappers put the gloves to dirt
and came back playing ball, first 3 inning looked like the bad news bears, then
the last 2 innings they stepped up and played ball to finish the game with a
13-10 win.
|
|
5/8 Game 7, rained out make-up Game,
Bullfrogs Team: Way to go team, everything came together for us errors, batting
and our Big D, defense. Some really good plays fell our way and we took
advantage of them at the right place at the right time. Our bad thing, we are
still not running hard to first base or running thru first base.
|
|
5/7 Game 11, Rangers Team: Great
game! Our Big D, defense turned one double play and some singles to take home a
12-1 victory. Bats were alive and base running was superb. Way to go Scrappers.
|
|
5/4 Game 10, Wildcats Team: Great
game by both teams, Our Big D, defense was working again. Hitting the ball again
to put up 16 runs way to go team. The best defensive play of the game, the throw
from 3rd to 1st for the out. The opposing team's coach pitcher did a great job
of ducking the throw, it happened to fast for him to go anywhere that wouldn't
have been in the way.
|
|
4/28 Game 9, Benbrook Team: This team
was good, some power hitters for sure. Our defense was dead again hope we get
out of the slump we are in right now. One thing about the way we are playing
right now is there is only one direction to go. I think, ;-)
|
|
4/26 Game 8, Bullfrogs: Ouch another
stinger! The bullfrogs played at their best and we played at our worst. The
players seemed to be tried with a major attention problem for this game, we see
the Bullfrogs again and I sure hope we show up to play ball.
|
|
4/24 Game 7, Bullfrogs:
Rain out, Game rescheduled for May 8 at 6:00, Red Game
above
|
|
4/19 Game 6, Wildcats: Nice Win! The
Scrapper's issue their second dip to the Wildcats so way to go team! Batting was
better the last game had 15 strikeouts this game only 8. With our 1st base
player out sick we did a lot of defensive scrambling to make it work nicely. Our
next game will be the game to watch as we face the Bullfrogs which also has only
one loss which we gave them. The Bullfrogs batting has come a long way since the
last time we played them so the Big D could be the game winner for us. As a
parent on our team you should be proud of use being the by far best defensive
team out there, hand down. Also Jordon maintained a "batting a 1,000" average
thru 5 games this was a great effort. Michael and Joe still have an on base
average of 100%. 9 of 12 are batting 500 + average.
|
|
4/14 Game 5, Rangers in for Benbrook:
Despite the cold weather and wind we pulled this one off, way to many strikeouts
for any one game, this maybe due to the jackets and gear being warn to stay
warm. Defense was good plays were made at the right times with only a few
errors. Over all a good win.
|
|
4/12 Game 4, Rangers: Ouch! Not to
take anything away from that team they hit the ball better than I have every
seen but, on the flip side our defense was not the Big D last night. We when 9
strikeouts of the 15 outs for the game was all us, so for offense we bet
ourselves on this game. We see them again Saturday and maybe this time the
sleeping giant will show up.
|
|
4/10 Game 3, Wildcats: Another WOW game!
Batting is still improving, defense did good but, fell asleep twice on easy
plays. Over all performance was great. Offense was slow first two innings of
play and then they came alive for the remainder of the Game. This game was against the only other
undefeated team so now everyone will be gunning for our team as we are the only
remaining undefeated team in the pinto division.
|
|
4/5 Game 2, Lions Cubs: Wow what a game! Batting
has come around and defense is still the big D. Three home runs were scored,
several single & doubles turned in to runs all the way to the home plate on
errors on the Lions Clubs. Our next game is the one, Juan's team will be hard to
beat our defense is what will make the difference. The Coach
|
|
4/2 Game 1, Bullfrogs: One down 14 to go: What can I
say, defense looked great! Batting? 7 of 9 outs was all on us, they only made
two defensive
plays for outs. Base running, well, that won this game for sure, the rabbit
out fox the fox. Our weakness (as it is for the other teams as well) is batting
so practices will be focused on mostly that with warm-up of the big D. Every
game has it's design however, the game design may change and the coaches must
adjust. Our team will only improve from here so parents set back and enjoy the
ride, as a roller coaster ride it will be. The Coach
